Mathematics of Computers - Logic and Abstraction with Matthew Zamora, founder of MoCo Makers
Time & Location

Rockville Science Center, 36C Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD 20850, USA
About the event
Join us as we dive into the logic of computer processors. Start with math principles and learn how simple logic becomes Chat-GPT. We will cover CPU design concepts, transistor logic, and the abstraction of modern electronic systems. Follow our math adventure where we demonstrate the direct line from the abacus to the pocket calculator, to advanced systems. Our presenter: Matthew Zemora is the founder of MoCo Makers, a local makerspace and community research group. With a background in neuroscience and computer science, Matthew brings an eclectic knowledge base. Matthew was previously the team lead of software development at a pharmaceutical company, before leaving to start a clean tech company. The Rockville Numberphiles is a math club for adults and students in middle or high school (under 14 must attend with an adult). Our interactive discussions and presentations help youth and adults explore the broad range of elementary and advanced mathematics, its history, and problem solving.
