About the event
Skill Level: Beginner–Intermediate Ages: 11 and up
Learn how to crochet one of the most iconic and versatile motifs in fiber arts—the granny square! In this hands-on class, students will be guided step by step through the process of creating a classic crochet granny square. Participants will learn how to crochet in the round, work clusters using the granny stitch, and change colors for a polished finish.
This class is ideal for adventurous beginners and intermediate crocheters. While prior experience is helpful, students are recommended to have basic knowledge of the double crochet stitch to feel most comfortable in class. The skills learned can be used to create blankets, garments, accessories, and more. Students will leave the class with a completed granny square and the confidence to continue building on this timeless technique.
Class is at the Rockville Science Center, 36c Maryland Avenue, across from the Makerspace.
