This presentation will discuss the need for stormwater control, the benefits of green stormwater control, regulatory drivers, the difference between green, out-of-stream methods versus the in-stream method called stream restoration, and the impact of stream restorations on our natural areas.
Our Speaker: Ken Bawer is a retired IT Specialist. He is a board member on the West Montgomery County Citizens Association, a former member of Montgomery County’s Water Quality Advisory Group appointed by County Executive Marc Elrich, a past board member of the Maryland Native Plant Society, co-founder of the Watts Branch Watershed Alliance, founder of the Coalition to Prevent Stream Destruction, a long-time volunteer supervisor for the Montgomery Parks Weed Warrior program, and was certified as a Maryland Master Naturalist.
