Winter Break Science Adventures (All Day, 4-day program)
Ages 7-12 are invited to join us for 4 full days (Dec 26 -29, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm) of science fun and learning. Mornings will be for engineering projects and afternoons we'll put our creativity to the test.

Participants may choose to sign up for a half day program instead of the full day (see separate class listings for registration).Â
Mornings: Engineering Projects
Catapults: Catapults use stored energy to hurl a projectile. You will build your catapult using one of these 3 energy storage mechanisms: Tension – Torsion – Gravity. Then have fun hurling different balls into different buckets.
Robotics: Build, program and operate a LEGO Mindstorms robot with different sensors. You will works through a series of exercises to experience solving elemental robotics tasks. This is ideal for hands-on students who love building while learning mechanical and programming concepts.
Motors: Build electromagnetic motors and make solenoid art shapes that spin non-stop in a magnetic field.
Afternoons: Â Maker Projects and presents ideas
3D design & Lithophane: Make creative projects using 3D printers
Laser cutting/ Engraving: Â Students are invited to bring in a wood cutting board or other special piece (maximum size: 8" x 11.8"). They can also choose to engrave their design on any of the materials we have available, wood and leather, you can be creative and make presents.
Painting with Milk & Paper Marbling: Get creative using ingredients commonly found at home to make beautiful art.
Bath Bombs: Make your own all-natural bath bombs to take home or give as a present.
