We use the term all the time, but what is a planet, really? Why don't planetary scientists even agree on the definition of planet? Regardless of who or what you believe, the dwarf planet Pluto and its planet-moon Charon are fascinating and strange, new worlds. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of humankind's only reconnaissance of this alien planetary world by NASA's New Horizons spacecraft. Come learn about the nitrogen ice glaciers, the avalanches, the canyons, the craters, and more of these mesmerizing...planets!
Dr. Kirby Runyon is a Research Scientist at the Planetary Science Institute and a team member on the NASA-funded New Horizons mission to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt.
