Celestial Orbits Without Tears with Brice Cranford
Time & Location
Nov 14, 2024, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Rockville Science Center, 36C Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD 20850, USA
About the event
All spacecraft follow celestial orbits (a.k.a. paths, trajectories, routes). In this introductory presentation you will learn about the different types of orbits and how the strange paths are created. Basic orbits are explained for travel around and toward planets, moons, asteroids, solar systems and a star. Learn some terminology used to describe orbits. This introductory presentation does not use mathematics to discuss or show the various celestial orbits and is part of the Spaceflight Series. Opportunity will be given for questions and answers during the one hour session.
Presenter, Brice Cranford is an Engineer who earned his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Catholic University in Washington DC and his Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering from George Washington University.
