Rockville Science Center, 36C Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD 20850, USA

About the event

Join statistician, Dr. Stella Grosser, as we explore how the Fibonacci sequence can be elegantly expressed using linear algebra principles, particularly matrix multiplication and diagonalization. This approach allows for a more efficient calculation of Fibonacci numbers, especially for larger values, compared to the recursive definition.

The Rockville Numberphiles is a club for math enthusiasts from middle school to adult. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Our interactive discussions and presentations help mathematicians explore the broad range of mathematics, its history, and problem solving. For more information contact Howard at hjlichtman@lichtman.ws or 301.580.7190.
