Elementary and Middle School students and their families are invited to join us for an important conversation looking at what science shows us about the real dangers of vaping and tobacco. From the science behind addiction to the harsh reality of health consequences, we'll take a deep dive into why these habits are harmful. Through eye-opening statistics and firsthand accounts, we'll explore how vaping and tobacco impact our bodies and minds.
Presenter Sarah Bagheri is an undergraduate student at George Washington University. She has a strong interest in mental health as well substance use affecting minors. Sarah and her brother, Brandon, started the online STEM program, MoCo Scientists for Kids, during Covid-19 to teach kids engaging topics during a time of isolation. During this time, Sarah also worked with Stanford University on tobacco and vaping educational outreach and policies. We are excited to welcome her to the Rockville Science Center for MoCo Scientists for Kids first in-person event.
