About the event

Join Rockville Science Center science enthusiasts for a tour of the Hagerstown Aviation Museum (about an hour's drive from Rockville)

The Hagerstown Aviation Museum is dedicated to preserving and presenting over 100 years of the region's aviation heritage. Over the past 29 years, the museum has grown from a concept to the world's largest collection of historic Fairchild and other aircraft. Some of the museum's aircraft include the 1919 Bellanca CE, 1928 Kreider-Reisner KR-31, 1933 Fairchild 22, 1939 Fairchild 24, 1953 Fairchild C-119G Flying Boxcar, Bell UH-1 (Huey Helicopter), and more. The museum's archive has also grown to include over ten thousand photographs and thousands of artifacts, models, personal items, films, and works of art.

After the tour join us, optionally, for lunch. A wonderful eatery, The Grille at Runways, is located on the grounds of the airport. The wait to get a seat at lunchtime is very long so reservations are necessary.…
