Join the Rockville Science Center for a tour of the University of the University Maryland Radiation Facilities.
All participants must register here to attend the tour. You also need to bring a signed copy of the Visitor Form with you. Transportation is not provided. See below for parking information. The campus is also accessible via Metro.
The University of Maryland Radiation Facilities (UMDRF) is an interdisciplinary research facility within the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the flagship campus of the University of Maryland in College Park. The site features a 250kW Training, Research, Isotopes, General Atomics (TRIGA) Reactor; a Panoramic Co-60 Irradiator; Electron Linear Accelerator; and other associated equipment. Since 1960, the UMDRF has provided a variety of irradiation and measurement services in support of research, education, and industry. In addition, the UMDRF provides educational services in the form of student tours, classes, and a Reactor Operator Training Program.
