Join a Club!

The Rockville Science Center offers two intergenerational clubs at our storefront location:

  • Rockville Chess Club

  • Numberphiles Math Club  

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rockville Chess Club

As a member of the United States Chess Federation, the Rockville Chess Club offers casual chess with the opportunity to attend training, tournaments and get a USCF rating. Join our Chess Club to learn, practice, and sharpen your chess skills. Make friends and become part of our community. We hold tournaments, events, and invite skilled Chess masters to teach all levels.

All ages are welcome to participate (under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult). Chess sets are available on a first come, first served basis.

Mondays, 6:30 - 9:00 PM

All are invited on Monday nights for casual play

​

2nd & 4th Fridays, 7:00 - 10:00 PM

On Fridays join us for rated and unrated blitz tournaments, alongside other events

(including casual play).

The Rockville Numberphiles is a math club for adults

and students in middle or high school

(under 14 must attend with an adult).

Our interactive discussions and presentations

help youth and adults explore the broad range

of elementary and advanced mathematics,

its history, and problem solving.
