Explorations! Field Trip – Behind the Scenes tour of Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum
June 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in DC showcases the continued wax sculpting that Madame Tussaud did herself over 200 years ago. Please join us for this behind-the-scenes tour as we are taken through the exhibit, past celebrities, sports stars, and presidents, to see what goes into creating these lifelike statues. The museum staff will explain the wax itself and what the casting process entails in order to capture as much detail about the subject as possible. The underlying structure within the statues will also be discussed to show the engineering and design work that goes into one of these statues so it can stably stand on its own.
