The cosmological catastrophe remains an outstanding problem in cosmology. Science still lacks a way to combine the General Theory of Relativity (science writ large) with Quantum Mechanics (science writ small). Dr. Howard will discuss how this catastrophe got started and where it now stands.

Our Speaker: Dr. Howard earned her Ph.D. from Georgia State University. Her dissertation explained the now accepted idea behind the appearance of the Whirlpool Galaxy. Sethanne has taught high school physics and university astronomy. She has worked as the Chief of the Nautical Almanac Office at the US Naval Observatory and as a Program Manager for the National Science Foundation. Sethanne is the author of “Hidden Giants”, the story of 4,000 years of women in STEM as well as the children’s book, “The Invisible Rabbit and the Invisible Carrot Bar.”
